HORIZON-CL5-2026-03-D3-22 : AI-driven forecasting algorithms for Grid and Consumer friendly Energy Sharing - Societal Readiness pilot

DevelopMinded is a deep-tech commercialisation and exploitation partner supporting Innovation Actions that needs to deliver real uptake. For this proposal, we will help turn AI-driven forecasting and energy sharing concepts into solutions that are trusted, adoptable and scalable for energy communities, citizens and grid stakeholders. Our focus is on making the project outcomes usable for DSOs, aggregators, community platforms and technology providers, as well as ensuring strong societal readiness so the work is aligned with real needs, concerns and behaviours of diverse user groups.

What we can provide

• Exploitation strategy and business modelling for AI forecasting, collective self-consumption and energy sharing services

• Go-to-market and adoption planning for community energy platforms and flexibility services, including stakeholder mapping and early adopter engagement

• Pilot design support to ensure consumer participation is realistic, measurable and scalable, with clear KPIs linked to trust, engagement and grid outcomes

• Value-case development for DSOs and market actors, connecting forecasting performance to reduced burdens, improved balancing and O&M benefits

• Replication planning across regulatory and market contexts, identifying adoption barriers and conditions for scale

• Proposal and work package structuring support for IA delivery, including exploitation, dissemination, stakeholder coordination and impact work packages

What we are looking for
We seek to join a consortium with strong technical and piloting capacity and access to real communities and grid environments, such as:

• AI/ML forecasting and grid analytics specialists with experience in distributed energy systems

• Energy community platforms, citizen energy initiatives, aggregators and flexibility service providers for participation and market integration

• DSOs and relevant grid stakeholders for solutions that reduce operational burdens and fit operational processes

• Pilot sites with active consumers and communities, including diverse social groups to meet societal readiness requirements

• SSH partners with game theory, behavioural economics, participatory methods or socio-technical systems expertise to lead societal readiness activities

• Regulatory, market design and data governance partners to support compliant scaling and cross-context replication
