About
Extending the lifetime of crystalline-Si PV modules (EUPI-PV)
We will deliver a comprehensive sustainability assessment work package for Ag- and In-free crystalline-Si PV modules, in line with PEF and compatible prospective LCA/LCC of modules and balance-of-system (BOS) components.
At the material level, if an SSbD approach is included in the project, the LCA will also align with SSbD screening of materials (metallisation, encapsulants, backsheets).
The LCA will cover all life-cycle stages related to design-for-repair and refurbishment strategies, as well as end-of-life and recycling scenarios.
We will develop harmonised, FAIR datasets and benchmarking dashboards linking durability and field performance to environmental impacts, supported by uncertainty analysis, alignment with EUPI-PV KPIs, and an exploitation roadmap providing evidence for policy and standardisation.
