About
Development of sustainable and design-to-cost batteries with (energy-)efficient manufacturing processes and based on advanced and safer materials (Batt4EU Partnership)
ESA-LCA offers Development of next-generation low-cost batteries sustainability assessment while lowering the share of CRM. LCA in line with Safe and Sustainable by Design (SSbD), environmental and economic aspects.
(i) Cell/Module/Pack Level Cost Modelling (LCC / TEA / design-to-cost) to quantify CAPEX/OPEX reduction per kWh; (ii) regulatory analysis and environmental-economic traceability aligned with the Battery Regulation (recycled content, criticality of materials, recyclability), which the EC requires to demonstrate for "sustainable and safer batteries"; (iii) circularity and end-of-life assessment (recovery of critical metals) as an argument for the resilience of raw materials. Here we do NOT sell generic laboratory SSbD as a core package, but "compliance & cost competitiveness" in pilot environment.
