Collaborative Turbine Control for HVDC Offshore Integration

About
This distributed control system enables offshore wind turbines to regulate frequency and stay synchronized when the wind farm is connected to the main grid through an HVDC-LCC link with a diode rectifier. Instead of relying on centralized capacitor banks or complex converters, the technology uses the reactive power capability of each turbine to coordinate frequency and synchronization across the entire farm.
The system reduces infrastructure needs, improves scalability and ensures stable operation even under varying grid or wind conditions. Each turbine performs its own control action within safe operating limits, increasing system reliability and reducing costs and space requirements compared to conventional centralized solutions.
Collaboration sought:
Technical cooperation and/or license agreements are sought with industrial partners and wind turbine manufacturers to further develop the technology and bring it to market.
