About
The REDES Research Group at Universidad Carlos III de Madrid has developed a system that detects technical energy losses in real time at the level of each individual smart meter. The solution identifies both active and reactive losses directly at customer connection points, providing precise and localized information to distribution system operators.
The system is integrated into the electrical substation control center, enabling centralized monitoring, automated energy balance and improved decision-making. It is adaptable to different low-voltage network configurations and aligns with Smart Grid strategies for efficient, transparent and sustainable energy management.
Collaboration sought: License agreements with energy distribution companies to incorporate the technology into their service portfolio and bring it to market.
