Regenerative Island Living Lab: Next Generation & Circular Action
Founder and Executive Director at The Route 66 Foundation - Eco Resilience Lab

About
We are developing a regenerative living lab on Gran Canaria, where island innovation, circular action and the next generation come together to restore ecosystems and strengthen community resilience.
Through our EcoResilience Lab, we engage international volunteers and local residents in hands-on, nature-based activities across the island, from barrancos and mountain landscapes to coastal areas. Our work focuses on restoring natural environments while building awareness, responsibility and long-term thinking.
Our approach is rooted in the transition from ego to eco, where people reconnect with nature and their role within a larger system. We invest in the next generation as key drivers of change, while working closely with local communities and partners to create lasting, place-based impact.
With our Waste to Wisdom approach, we transform collected waste into awareness, value and visible outcomes, contributing to circular economy thinking and regenerative practices.
We are looking to collaborate with municipalities, island initiatives, organisations and EU partners to co-develop scalable, island-based solutions that combine environmental action, community engagement and future-focused learning.
