Early drought detection in vineyards
CTO at Veles Sense
About
We are offering an advanced solution for early drought detection in vineyards based on high-resolution thermal imaging acquired by a drone-mounted camera. By capturing temperature variations across the canopy, our system identifies subtle differences in plant transpiration and water status before visible symptoms appear. Through proprietary data processing and analysis, the solution is able to distinguish between 3 to 5 distinct water stress zones within a vineyard, enabling growers to clearly understand spatial variability in water availability and plant health.
The monitoring process is fast, efficient, and scalable, allowing coverage of multiple hectares in a single flight while maintaining high spatial resolution at the level of individual vine rows. The resulting maps provide actionable insights that support precision irrigation, targeted interventions, and optimized resource use. By detecting drought stress at an early stage, our solution helps prevent yield loss, improve grape quality, and reduce unnecessary water consumption, making vineyard management more sustainable and cost-effective.
