TRACE-UP: Digital Traceability and Valorisation of Agrifood Coproducts

Large volumes of agrifood coproducts (peels, pulp, protein residues, fermentation substrates, etc.) are generated during food processing. Many of these streams contain valuable nutrients but are poorly tracked, limiting their reuse as ingredients or raw materials.

The lack of transparent traceability creates challenges in:

• food safety and regulatory compliance

• quality assurance of recovered ingredients

• circular economy integration

• supply chain transparency

As a result, significant amounts of potentially valuable coproducts are wasted or used inefficiently.
