About

Having proven the model with community cats, we are extending the same platform (Wild Metrics®) to other free-roaming species that live in urban or peri-urban areas and interact with citizens. We are looking for municipalities, regional agencies, park authorities or public-health bodies in any EU country willing to run a pilot on one or more of these use cases:

  • Human–wildlife conflict: wild boar (Sus scrofa) in neighbourhoods and parks; rabbit overpopulation in green areas, airports or infrastructure.

  • Invasive alien species (EU Regulation 1143/2014): monk parakeet (Myiopsitta monachus) nesting colonies; Asian hornet (Vespa velutina) nests; raccoons.

  • Seasonal threats: pine processionary (Thaumetopoea pityocampa) nests in urban pines; wasp and hornet nests; gull nesting on rooftops; protected-species nests (swifts, swallows) that condition building works.

Every record is a geolocated, time-stamped encounter, not a static census, so the responsible department sees where conflicts concentrate and acts only where impact is negative, while meeting legal reporting duties.

What a pilot involves: 6–12 months, the platform configured for your species and workflows, citizen and staff reporting via mobile, a dashboard for the responsible department, and interoperability with your smart-city or open-data platform (Darwin Core / GBIF compatible). We are flexible on terms for the first pilot in each country and can co-design the pilot as the basis of a joint EU proposal.
