We are the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid, a leading institution dedicated to higher education and research in engineering, architecture, and technology. Our mission is to foster innovation and creativity among our students and faculty, while promoting collaboration with industry leaders and entrepreneurs. By participating in networking events, we aim to strengthen partnerships that enhance our academic programs and contribute to technological advancements. Together, we strive to shape the future of research and education, driving progress in various sectors.
In our group we have developed, and protected, technology for steering and focusing optical light beams, in optical trains with no moving parts, long life time, low weight and low power consumption. Likewise, we are probably the world leading manufacturer of reconfigurable Intelligent Reflective Surface prototypes, for the intelligent redirection of microwave radio signals.
We are looking for applications of our tecnology, and are open for any degree of project collaboration or technology transfer.
Personally, allthough I have spent the last 20 years at the Universidad Politecnica de Madrid, teaching telecoms engineers, and developed liquid crystal devices, my background is a masters degree in chemistry and biotechnology from DK ,a doctorate in condensed matter physics from UK and a few years in a spin-off company from Oxford University. Since my arrival here in Spain, my research has been centred on non-display applications, which apart from the conventional academic CV has lead my participation in the creation of one Spin-off company.
Adaptive optics based on Liquid crystal technology. High performing low consumption, low voltage, variafocal lenses with no moving parts
