EnzyQuest is a biotechnology company based at the Science and Technology Park of Crete, specializing in the development, manufacturing, and distribution of high-quality enzymes and molecular reagents for research and diagnostic use. EnzyQuest serves academic, clinical, and industrial laboratories across Greece, Cyprus, Germany, and the USA.
Our portfolio includes molecular biology reagents, molecular diagnostic kits for wastewater-based epidemiology (e.g., SARS-CoV-2, Influenza A/B), and customized molecular solutions for commercial partners and clinical trials. We are actively seeking collaborations in the areas of OEM/CDMO production, molecular diagnostics, and applied public health surveillance.
An experienced biotech entrepreneur and CEO of EnzyQuest, Greece’s leading company in molecular biology reagents and enzyme production. He holds an MSc in Molecular Biology & Biomedicine (2001) and a PhD in Protein Engineering (2006) from the University of Crete (UoC) and conducted postdoctoral research at New England Biolabs (USA). As Head Scientist at Minotech Biotechnology (IMBB-FORTH, 2016-2019), he led R&D efforts before founding EnzyQuest in 2019. He secured venture capital funding, established EnzyQuest as an ISO-certified molecular reagent manufacturer, and forged strategic partnerships with academic institutions, biotech companies, and distributors. Under his leadership, EnzyQuest has developed and commercialized high-quality molecular biology reagents, diagnostic kits, and enzyme solutions. He serves as a mentor at the Innovation Business Observatory (IBO) of the Region of Crete and is the Coordinator of the MSc course ‘Entrepreneurship and Innovation’ at UoC
