Bridge the Gap is an innovation consultancy company that supports deep-tech start-ups to overcome the challenges they meet in the journey to market.
Laura Sisó is an entrepreneur and founder of four companies, passionate about ‘green technology’ and business creation. She has devoted her professional life to innovation and sustainable energy systems. Motivated by the idea of contributing to making real the ideas that help reduce the climate impact, she has combined technical and economic knowledge to build feasible and profitable projects and businesses. She works closely with deep-tech start-ups to contribute to their projects going from lab to the market. She is mentoring on technology roadmap planning, business model assessment, and financial strategy. She has specialised in raising public funding through European programs and private funding as Business Angel.
Laura obtained a Master of Science in Industrial Engineering specialising in Energy Technology from Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya. Later, she complemented her education with business and financial capabilities with a Master's in Business Administration at ESADE (Universitat Ramon Llull). She progressed from project engineer on Renewable Energy and Smart Cities projects to team leader throughout her professional life. Finally, she founded two sustainability consultancies Aiguasol and Mira Energia. Recently she co-founded and is leading the innovation consultancy Bridge the Gap. She has an extensive experience in multidisciplinary and multicultural projects in the European area. She has also been a Spanish representative in the International Energy Agency.
As a business angel, she is co-founder of the vehicle SITL Capital, which invested in thirteen start-ups in health and life sciences, industry 4.0 and retail. She has actively participated in other investment ecosystems, such as start-up mentor in Invest Horizon EU. In addition, she has participated as a jury member for EIT Urban Mobility investments and has been a lecturer and coach for the EIT Innoenergy acceleration program Cleantechcamp.
Finally, as a volunteer, Laura has participated in the women's network Inspira STEAM to share knowledge about female opportunities related to science and technology between girls.
She secured more than 18M€ European public funds in R&D and innovation projects, of which 90% are for deep-tech start-ups from the programs EIC Accelerator (Horizon Europe), SME Instrument (Horizon 2020), EIT Health and Funding for Third Parties.
