About

This project aims to develop next-generation microbiome technologies for sustainable and climate-resilient agriculture through the integration of multi-omics technologies, artificial intelligence, and advanced bioinformatics. By combining metagenomics, metatranscriptomics, metabolomics, and phenotypic data, the consortium will identify key microbial functions and interactions associated with crop productivity and stress tolerance.

Machine learning and predictive modelling approaches will be used to design and optimize multi-kingdom defined microbial communities (DMCs) with enhanced compatibility, stability, and efficacy. The project will validate DMC performance under greenhouse and field conditions, focusing on resilience to drought, heat, and other environmental stresses. In parallel, partners will develop scalable bioprocessing and manufacturing strategies to support commercial deployment of microbiome-based products.

The consortium seeks partners from SMEs, industry, and technology providers with expertise in multi-omics, AI and data analytics, microbial product development, and bioprocess engineering.
