About

AIT Austrian Institute of Technology is Austria's largest non-university research institute, with 1,400 employees. AIT connects research and industry at national and international levels by providing new technologies in response to society's demands. The Bioresources Unit focuses on the development of new technologies and tools aimed at increasing the exploitation of plant and microbial resources. Plant microbiome application is one of the strategic R&D topics of Bioresources Unit that aims to elucidate the ecology of microorganisms in different plant environments. Through moving from basic understanding to application, from lab to field, we elaborate new solutions for sustainable crop production such as microbiome-based prediction tools or improved microbial application technologies of individual strains, consortia, or natural communities.
