Nitrogen Generator

On-site generation reduces harmful emissions, increases reliability, and lowers your costs of nitrogen when compared to traditional supply by road transportation. The ambient air around us consists of 78% nitrogen; with ON2Quest’s PSA technology, nitrogen can be extracted and purified to the requirement of the specific process without any harmful emissions.

The purity of the nitrogen gas produced ranges from 95% to 99.999% and flow rates between 1 Nm3/h and 5,000 Nm3/h. These generators are highly suitable to be installed at most industrial sites such as food packaging, petrochemical, pharmaceutical, electronics, metallurgy, and others.

The Technology

The nitrogen core modules are based on a pressure swing adsorption (PSA) process which utilises the phenomenon where certain gas species adsorb to the adsorbent materials, like carbon molecular sieves, under higher pressure while nitrogen does not adsorb as readily and passes through the adsorbent bed. Once a vessel is saturated with impurities, the vessel is then shut off and the next vessel takes over the process. The pressure from the first vessel is then reduced, releasing the impurities and prepares for the next cycle, ensuring a continuous nitrogen gas stream from the integrated system.

Typical Installation

The nitrogen generation systems are usually supplied as integrated skids, including pre-selected components for air compression, pre-treatment and storage. These plug-and play systems are factory tested and installation requires a minimum downtime.
