About

EVEC Athens (Evropaiko Ethelontiko kai Ekpaideftiko Kentro) is a Greek non-profit NGO based in Athens, specialising in educational translation of research for European Union funded projects.

If we join your consortium, we deliver the complete Communication & Dissemination Work Package — project website, social channels, newsletters, policy briefs, stakeholder events, press relations, and the final conference — and we add our youth-engagement methodology on top, converting the WP into a measurable societal-impact and innovation-uptake engine.

Here is what our added methodology brings to your project.

Year 1 — Translating your research into educational assets. We work alongside your scientific Work Package leads from project month one to convert each emerging research finding into age-banded educational content: lesson plans for primary classrooms (8–12), structured modules for secondary schools (13–18), university research-translation briefs, and venture-oriented ideation materials for young entrepreneurs (25–30). Every output is produced in English and at least three additional consortium-country languages.

Year 2 onwards — In-school workshop programme across multiple consortium countries. We deliver hands-on workshops directly inside primary and secondary classrooms across the consortium's geographic footprint, using our Erasmus+ partner network as the delivery channel. Each workshop is paired with experimental kits shipped to participating teachers, allowing the activity to continue independently after our visit. We train consortium-country teachers to deliver follow-on sessions, multiplying the project's reach without requiring further travel budget.

Throughout the project — Youth-native digital content programme. In parallel with the WP's standard adult-facing channels, we run a youth-facing digital programme on Instagram Reels, TikTok, and YouTube Shorts, producing content in the formats and rhythm that 13–30 year-olds actually engage with. This reaches an audience layer the consortium would not otherwise touch.

Throughout the project — Open Educational Resources legacy. Every educational asset produced under the WP is CC-BY licensed and deposited in the EU's Open Educational Resources repositories, operationalising the consortium's Open Science obligations directly and ensuring teachers across Europe will be using the project's materials in 2030, 2035, and beyond — long after the funding ends.

Years 3–4 — Research-to-venture pipeline. We run hackathons and ideation cohorts that connect the project's research outputs to university students forming startup ideas and to young entrepreneurs seeking research-grounded ventures. These activities feed the consortium's exploitation pathway and innovation-uptake reporting under the Impact section.

The strategic value we add to the proposal. As a Greek NGO, EVEC strengthens three scoring levers in a single partner: Widening country participation, societal impact pathway, and innovation uptake among next-generation researchers and entrepreneurs. We bring a decade of EU project-management discipline — Erasmus+ KA1 accredited, European Solidarity Corps Quality Label holder, 20+ EU projects delivered — and operational infrastructure including an urban science living-lab in central Athens available as a physical engagement venue for student groups, hackathons, and entrepreneur cohorts.

Our current portfolio — the proof this methodology works.

EVEC currently leads Communication & Dissemination as a Work Package partner in our first Horizon Europe project (Cluster 6, FARM2FORK call, currently under evaluation), applying exactly the methodology described above.

The live demonstrator of the approach is microgreens.org.gr — our open-access science-translation platform with 100+ articles. Originally built as a research-communication channel for our Erasmus+ and ESC projects, it has grown into a working ecosystem where researchers publish, teachers pull lesson plans, students cite content in coursework, and young entrepreneurs find their first venture ideas. It is the live proof that every research output can become a teaching tool, an article, a workshop, and where relevant, a startup seed — and that the methodology is replicable across any project domain.
