Asst. Prof. Eda Nur Çapkan Altun at Istanbul Ticaret University contribute to the HORIZON-JU-CBE-2026-IAFlag-03 – SSbD bio-based solutions for home and/or personal care call through a human-centered, data-driven “Consumer Insight & Sensory Intelligence Package.” Our focus is on integrating sensory science, behavioral analytics, and AI to optimize sustainable bio-based product acceptance and personalization.

Key Contributions & Strategic Deliverables:

Sensory Perception & Human Response Analytics:
Advanced analysis of smell and taste perception mechanisms linked to consumer preferences in home and personal care products, enabling SSbD-aligned formulation feedback loops.

Neuro-Behavioral Measurement Systems:
Integration of EEG, ECG, and eye-tracking technologies to capture real-time cognitive, emotional, and attentional responses during product testing.

Immersive Experimental Environments (VR/AR-based):
Design of controlled, real-life–simulated digital/VR environments to test consumer interactions with bio-based products under realistic usage conditions.

Behavioral Design & Nudging Strategies:
Application of nudging-based behavioral interventions to guide sustainable consumer choices and improve adoption of SSbD-compliant products.

AI-Driven Personalization Models:
Machine learning algorithms to match consumer segments with optimal fragrance, texture, and product profiles—enabling personalized home & personal care solutions.

Product–Market Fit & Consumer Validation:
End-user testing with industry partners to evaluate product acceptance, optimize scent–feedback loops, and validate SSbD-aligned market fit across target consumer groups.
