About
Science For Change (SFC) is a knowledge-based social enterprise that promotes collaborative research, evidence-informed public policy and high-quality science communication. SFC addresses social, environmental and health challenges by connecting researchers, citizens, public administrations, organisations and other stakeholders through citizen science, participatory strategies and co-creation processes.
SFC’s expertise lies in designing and implementing inclusive methodologies that enable society to actively participate in knowledge generation and decision-making. The organisation develops co-creation strategies, citizen science initiatives, stakeholder engagement processes, science communication actions, science-for-policy activities, art-science experiences, consultancy, mentoring and training programmes.
With experience in Horizon 2020 and Horizon Europe projects, SFC contributes to interdisciplinary consortia by integrating SSH perspectives, public engagement, inclusivity, gender considerations and Responsible Research and Innovation (RRI) principles. Its methodologies are designed to be adaptable across scientific fields, supporting the development of socially relevant, evidence-based and sustainable solutions.
SFC has collaborated with more than 100 partner institutions in over 30 countries and has participated in more than 15 research projects, including initiatives related to environmental monitoring, circular economy, biodiversity, climate challenges, health, patient experience, social innovation and science communication.
SFC combines research expertise with practical implementation capacity, supporting projects in stakeholder involvement, citizen observatories, living labs, qualitative approaches, co-design processes, capacity building and the translation of scientific results into policy recommendations and societal impact. Through its participatory approach and broad stakeholder ecosystem, SFC helps ensure that research outcomes are relevant, usable and connected to real-world needs.
