NAMHUS (National Micro and Mini Hydropower Users Society Nepal) is a national umbrella organization representing micro and mini hydropower users committee, and cooperative. The organization works on policy reform, regulatory advocacy, and technical standardization to strengthen the sustainability of small-scale hydropower systems. NAMHUS promotes innovative approaches such as productive end-use integration, grid interconnection of micro-hydro plants, system rehabilitation and modernization, digital monitoring, and the transition to electric cooking to enhance load management and financial viability. It also focuses on capacity building, quality assurance, research, and sector coordination to ensure resilient, low-carbon, and community-driven energy systems in rural Nepal.
As Chairperson of NAMHUS, I represent Nepal’s micro and mini hydropower sector. With 10+ years in energy access, I work on policy and advocacy to ensure long-term sustainability of micro-hydro initiatives.
