Peter’s career is built on a solid foundation of technical expertise, progressive leadership, and a passion for sustainable innovation.

His professional journey began over 22 years ago as an Electrician and Electrical Technician, with an intensive 8-year tenure at Escom (the National Sole Grid supplier). This pivotal role provided deep, system-wide insight into national power infrastructure and electrical engineering fundamentals.

Seeking broader challenges, he expanded his expertise across South Africa and Eswatini, advancing into specialized roles as a Solar Installer. This hands-on field experience across diverse markets cemented his reputation for technical proficiency and adaptive problem-solving, leading him to master the design, installation, and maintenance of various solar systems.

Peter holds a Diploma in Electrical & Electronic Engineering, majoring in Electrical Power. This academic achievement, combined with his field experience, positioned him to transition from technician to entrepreneur.

Driven by a visionary outlook and certified training as an Energy Entrepreneur, he founded Worldwide Smart Technologies. The company provides comprehensive solutions including Solar Installations (off-grid, hybrid, home/commercial systems, water pumps & heaters), Electrical Contracting, Automation, HVAC, CCTV, and Smart Plumbing. Demonstrating a deep commitment to circular economy principles, the company also produces BIOMASS charcoal briquettes from various wastes.

For the past five years, as Technical & Managing Director, Peter has overseen all daily operations and general management. He leverages strong analytical skills, administrative acumen, and innovative leadership to guide his team, ensuring every project aligns with the highest standards of technical excellence and strategic growth, in compliance with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals and Malawi’s 2063 vision.

Building on this success, Peter is now spearheading a strategic diversification into E-mobility through the pilot project "Dominate Eco-Rides 2," an initiative to convert Internal Combustion Engine (ICE) vehicles to electric power. This visionary project addresses a critical need in Malawi, a nation of over 20 million people whose exponentially growing transport sector remains heavily dependent on fossil fuels. This initiative positions Worldwide Smart Technologies at the forefront of sustainable transportation innovation in the region.

Now 45, Peter Nkhoma is a dynamic leader known for his interpersonal skills, quick learning ability, and adaptive approach. He seamlessly integrates his extensive hands-on background with forward-thinking management to deliver robust, smart technology solutions that power progress and sustainability.
