BioPower Pig – Modular “biogas → electricity” kit for pig farms and rural communities
About
BioPower Pig is a modular product for clean energy access in rural areas with abundant livestock biomass. It converts pig manure into biogas using a continuous‑flow biodigester, conditions the gas through a low‑cost train (moisture removal and H₂S reduction) and generates electricity using a petrol generator adapted to run on biogas. In the current prototype, a 4 hp generator (≈3 kW nominal) typically delivers ~2 kW and has powered tools, two air‑conditioned offices and household loads, operating in ~4‑hour cycles with short biogas recovery pauses. Key scale‑up gaps are: a safe low‑pressure biogas buffer (no overpressure), load management to prevent peak‑driven shutdowns, and minimum instrumentation for traceability and maintenance. We seek partners to standardise a replicable kit (BOM, manuals, safety and monitoring).
