About
JTP Auto Ltd is a Tanzania-based electric mobility company establishing electric vehicles and supporting infrastructure across the country, with a strong focus on practical, cost-effective deployment in real operating conditions.
JTP’s current priority is the development of electric vehicle conversion models that enable the reuse, recycling, and repurposing of existing internal combustion engine vehicles, particularly older, inefficient vehicles that would otherwise remain on the road or be scrapped prematurely. By converting existing vehicle bodies and platforms to electric drivetrains, JTP aims to reduce capital costs, minimise material waste, extend asset life, and accelerate the transition to electric mobility without relying solely on new vehicle imports.
This work is closely linked to JTP’s broader EV activities, which include piloting electric vehicles for urban logistics, commercial fleets, and shared mobility, as well as developing charging solutions suited to local grid conditions, usage patterns, and operating economics. JTP brings hands-on experience in vehicle deployment, charging integration, energy optimisation, and day-to-day fleet operations.
JTP is seeking collaboration with a UK-registered organisation to act as Lead Applicant under the Energy Catalyst programme. The partnership would focus on jointly developing, piloting, and validating scalable EV conversion solutions, including drivetrain integration, battery systems, power electronics, charging interfaces, safety standards, and performance monitoring.
Under this collaboration, JTP would provide vehicles, local facilities, technical staff, pilot sites, and operational data, and would lead in-country implementation, testing, and stakeholder coordination. We are specifically looking to partner with a UK organisation with strengths in vehicle engineering, EV conversion technology, battery systems, power electronics, control software, or innovation programme delivery, to jointly lead an Energy Catalyst project from concept through pilot and early scale.
