About
Our research profile centres on advanced metallic materials and manufacturing technologies, with expertise spanning additive manufacturing, casting, heat treatment, material characterisation, and metamaterials. We support the complete materials development cycle, from alloy design and component optimisation to manufacturing, testing, and performance evaluation.
Our facilities enable comprehensive material characterisation, including X-ray computed tomography, X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscopy, tensile testing (including elevated temperatures), hardness and surface roughness measurements, rheometry, vacuum arc melting, heat treatment, and additive manufacturing of polymers, metals, and ceramics. We have extensive experience in the development and processing of Fe-, Ti-, and Cu-based alloys, as well as novel materials for both casting and laser beam powder bed fusion.
We are seeking partners interested in developing research projects with clear industrial applications. We can contribute to component design, topology optimisation, alloy development, process optimisation, and manufacturing route selection to meet demanding operational requirements. We value collaborations that combine complementary expertise to accelerate the translation of innovative materials and manufacturing solutions into industrial practice.
