I am full professor of Human Geography (focus on social and urban geography) at the University of Graz and Director of the RCE Graz-Styria – Centre for Sustainable Social Transformation. My research stands at the intersection of everyday urban life, mobility practices, and spatial justice, with a particular focus on the resilience of local neighbourhoods. Specializing in the structural dimensions of urban transformations while being sensitive for individual lived experiences, my work investigates how mobility policies are perceived, resisted, or co-created by diverse populations (e.g. as part of the DUT 2022 Call). I have also explored urban cultures of care, examining how everyday care practices, equity, and social infrastructures can mitigate polarization, build community trust and is linked to diverse social economies. Through my leadership at RCE Graz-Styria, I moreover bring extensive expertise in partnering with local anchor institutions and developing/applying transdisciplinary tools embedded less in digital than in social participation.
