Neighbourhood energy transition under fragmented ownership — Türkiye case site, digital twin and decision support, seeking a PED 2 consortium

WE OFFER:

A case context in fast motion. In Türkiye, seismic-risk-driven renewal is replacing 1970s–80s apartment stock block by block, and each completed building fixes its energy performance for decades. Elsewhere in Europe the same pattern unfolds more slowly, through individual renovation decisions — a comparable structure at a different pace.

Baseline data that cannot be reconstructed later. Drone survey, laser scanning and 3D modelling of neighbourhoods currently mid-transformation, alongside BIM, digital twin and GIS capacity, and IoT sensor and urban data work through our SÜİT platform.

The coordination and decision layer. Ownership regimes, decision thresholds among co-owners, path dependency, and what the absence of coordination costs at district scale.

Social dimension. Affordability, displacement risk, and how costs and benefits are distributed among residents.

Applied track record. Disaster-resilient modular construction (Adıyaman Modular Housing) and AI-based structural design optimisation (OPTİMOD), alongside the METU campus and our municipal network as living lab environments.

We do not model energy systems or building physics in house. We are looking to join a consortium where that expertise sits with partners, contributing the coordination, decision-support and social dimensions alongside it. We would be glad to hear from consortia forming on this topic.
