1. Project Overview: RECONCILE Concept
RECONCILE is a three-year transnational project addressing the failure of mainstream Circular Urban Economy (CUE) models in contested peri-urban environments. The project pioneers the Conflict-Adaptive Circularity (CAC) framework, which leverages existing informal, low-tech practices (such as decentralized waste-to-soil systems and water harvesting) as a resilient foundation for formal green and social infrastructure.
2. Primary Role & Specialization
As the Lead of Work Package 3 (Co-Designing CAC Blueprints), the partner serves as the project’s primary Technological & Systems Validation expert. The role requires transdisciplinary specialization in:

Urban Design & Spatial Planning: To translate socio-political theory into physical prototypes.

Industrial Ecology: To provide empirical proof of resource feasibility through Life-Cycle Analysis (LCA).

Collaborative Governance: To facilitate co-design between formal government authorities and informal community actors.
3. Key Duties and Deliverables
The WP3 Lead is responsible for transitioning the research from conceptual mapping (WPs 1 & 2) into actionable urban instruments. Specific duties include:

Spatial Prototyping: Producing four (4) Spatially-explicit Circularity Blueprints (low-tech green/social infrastructure prototypes) adapted for Living Lab contexts.

Policy Roadmapping: Developing two (2) Policy Integration Roadmaps that facilitate the formal adoption of these low-tech solutions.

Technical Validation: Executing a comprehensive Life-Cycle Analysis (LCA) to ensure the environmental and resource feasibility of proposed prototypes (Milestone M3).

Procurement Reform: Designing adaptive public procurement templates that allow municipalities to legally engage with informal labor and material sectors.

Stakeholder Facilitation: Leading co-design workshops involving the Urban Government Authority (Ergene Municipality - Turkey) and civil society organizations.
4. Key Aspects for Success

Data Integration: WP3 must utilize the material flow data from WP1 (Linköping University - Sweden) and the conflict inventories from WP2 (KU Leuven - Belgium) to ensure designs are both technically viable and socially grounded.

Impact-Driven: The blueprints developed in WP3 serve as the direct input for the final RECONCILE Adaptive Circularity Toolkit (WP4).

Scientific Contribution: The partner (WP3 Lead) is expected to contribute to the project’s academic portfolio, including Tier-1 journal publications and the final benchmarking report for the DUT Knowledge Hub.
