Smart Connected Pedestrian Crossings for Safer Urban Mobility
About
Sialtrónica is a Spanish technology company specializing in intelligent road signage and smart urban mobility solutions. Its flagship innovation, the Retrolight System®, consists of LED-embedded ground plates and smart pedestrian crossings that integrate IoT activation, real-time data, and adaptive lighting to enhance visibility and safety for pedestrians and drivers.
Already deployed in seven countries, these systems have proven to reduce accidents and improve pedestrian flow, recognized by the Spanish DGT, Interreg Europe, and the Civitas Forum, and has received the 3rd Prize for Best Innovation at the Global Ministerial Conference on Road Safety (WHO), as well as recognition from the Red Innpulso of the Spanish Ministry of Science, Technology and Universities (2025).
Sialtrónica is seeking to join a consortium under the 15-Minute City pathway (Topic 1) as a technology demonstrator, contributing real-world infrastructure for pilot implementation and data-driven mobility research.
