Expanding SH Navi: An Open-Source Platform for Sustainable Mobility
About
KielRegion is currently implementing SH Navi, an open-source digital mobility platform supported by the federally funded initiative Model Projects Smart Cities (MPSC). The platform is based on the open-source tool "Stadtnavi", originally developed in Finland and already use in several European countries. Its goal is to make sustainable, intermodal mobility more visible, accessible and user-friendly.
With SH Navi, KielRegion aims to enhance a seamless intermodal travel experience—combining public transport, cycling, walking, and bike-sharing into one integrated system. The platform helps users plan and book their journeys more efficiently, promoting environmentally friendly mobility choices.
To further develop SH-Navi, KielRegion is looking for partners interested in expanding the platform’s capabilities. We have several ideas in mind: improving the user experience, increasing the cross-border bookability of different mobility services, identifying companies and negotiating open API's to make their data interfaces publicly available on a European level (or at least defining the next steps towards it).
We warmly welcome your input, especially as countries across Europe are at different stages in their digital mobility development.
