Geo-Circular Urban Living Corridors Powered by Geothermal Energy
About
This project concept, developed under the Driving Urban Transitions (DUT) 2025 Call, focuses on the themes of Positive Energy Districts (PED) and Circular Urban Economies (CUE).
The project aims to integrate geothermal energy, circular resource management, and digitalization to create climate-neutral, inclusive, and resilient urban environments across European cities.
The main objective is to design geo-circular urban living corridors powered by geothermal and thermal energy sources and to test this model in different cities through the Urban Living Lab approach.
Within this framework, the integrated management of energy, water, waste, and mobility systems will be established, supported by digital tools, citizen participation, and local production networks to create sustainable urban solutions.
The project is based on comparative learning and co-creation among European cities.
Its goal is to make the developed model adaptable to cities of different scales and to disseminate the results through the DUT network.
We are currently looking for international partners to co-develop the project concept:
-
Municipalities / City authorities: interested in implementing circular energy, water, or mobility pilots,
-
Universities / Research institutions: specialized in energy efficiency, AI, sustainability, or social impact analysis,
-
SMEs / NGOs: working on digital tools, green infrastructure, citizen participation, or data-driven governance.
The project aims to develop a scalable model that contributes to the climate-neutral transition of cities and is open to innovative partners across Europe.
