Marseille demonstration site on cooling networks
About
The City of Marseille is rolling out a strategy to develop heating and cooling networks in positive energy district across its entire territory. For example, it is in the process of launching the construction and operation of the first public district heating network in the north of the city. This network will connect 17,000 housing equivalents via 28 km of heating network and 4.8 km of cooling network. However, Marseille is facing increasingly severe heat waves. The city believes that cooling networks can be a sustainable solution for cooling homes and commercial buildings. It is therefore looking for a consortium to work on these issues.
