Energy process simulation
Professor for energy and process engineering at Kempten University of Applied Sciences
Kempten, Germany
About
The Process Simulation Laboratory at Kempten University of Applied Sciences offers research and development services in energy process simulation, focusing on the analysis, design, and optimization of thermal and energy technologies and systems. Activities include modeling and experimental validation of heat pump and refrigeration systems, district heating and cooling networks, seasonal energy storage (BTES, PTES), CO2 capture/ CCS, and integration of renewable energy technologies.
R&D projects address topics such as waste heat recovery, sector coupling, and thermal energy storage. The laboratory collaborates with industrial and academic partners to enhance energy efficiency and support the clean energy transition.
The team builds on broad experience from previous work at institutions such as the International Energy Agency (IEA, Paris), General Electric Global Research (Garching), and Forschungszentrum Jülich / RWTH Aachen University, ensuring a strong link between academic research and practical innovation.
