Improving the feasibility, effectiveness, and transferability of multimodal urban mobility measures

Frank Dünnebeil

Senior project manager (Climate protection and air pollution control in mobility) at ifeu - Institute for Energy and Environmental Research Heidelberg

About

ifeu's mobility department provides scientific consulting services for environmentally friendly and sustainable mobility. In the municipal sector, we focus on developing feasible measures and strategies, as well as assessing associated environmental impacts in ex-ante potential analyses, monitoring, and ex-post evaluations.

We consider improving data availability and quality for municipal planning processes to be an important area of action for environmentally friendly urban mobility, as well as systematically analysing obstacles to the implementation of local transport planning measures and approaches to overcome them.

We work on projects that provide methods and default data applicable across municipalities (e.g. region-specific measure effectiveness and emission factors for all modes of transport), as well as on local, individual projects. For example, we support and evaluate living labs, and derive recommendations for their transferability.

We would very much like to contribute our expertise and commitment to projects aimed at improving multimodality in Europe's cities.
