Electrification of heavy trucks carrying excavated soils
About
The project are proposed to demonstrate electrified excavation transports in a real-life environment in the Stockholm region through several demos in collaboration with municipalities, haulage companies, truck manufacturers, and charging operators. The project is unique in focusing on excavation trucks operating in the open market, a transport segment that faces greater challenges than those tied to long-term contracts and fixed routes.
The goal is to demonstrate cost-neutral TCO, maintained delivered load capacity, CO₂ reduction – while at the same time developing a model that can be scaled nationally.
The results will be evaluated and prepared for a scaled up regionally. Altogether, the project provides comparable data, clear milestones, and practical tools for broad implementation.
