About
The project aims to explore and demonstrate the introduction of a capsule-pipe network as a utility in the fictitious city Pipeville 2035. Cost-benefit analysis compared to the current and proposed last-mile and meter logistics solutions. The project aims to explore and demonstrate the implementation of a capsule-pipe network as a utility in the fictional city of Pipeville in 2035. It will evaluate the cost benefits of this system compared to the current and proposed last-mile and meter logistics solutions, which include garbage trucks, automatic waste removal pneumatic systems, vans, cargo bikes, parcel lockers, sidewalk robots, and air drones. A demonstrator will be built to showcase "room service" to apartments. One terminal in an apartment building is connected to a terminal in a mini-mart via a tube, which also serves as a pick-up and delivery point for packages and laundry. The integration with the concept Multy Multi-Utility Tunnels, where several technical infrastructures, as water, sewage, electricity, gas, fibre, district heating/cooling, and pneumatic waste disposal, are co-located with casule-pipes, will be analysed.
