Vivodepot GmbH

Vivodepot GmbH is a Berlin-based micro-enterprise founded in 2026. It develops Vivodepot, an application that lets private individuals hold and manage their own records across eleven areas of life: identity, the people around them, health, legal provisions and advance directives, finances, education and work, housing and property, mobility and travel, social insurance, dealings with public authorities, and personal matters. The scope is deliberately sector-agnostic. Life does not arrive sorted by ministry, and neither should the records that document it.

Standards are the interface, not a feature. Vivodepot does not define its own exchange formats. Where an established open standard exists for a domain, the application implements it — FHIR R4 and the International Patient Summary for medical records, aligned with the European Electronic Health Record Exchange Format; W3C Verifiable Credentials for attestations issued from held data. This works in both directions: standard-conformant documents are recognised and parsed on import, and exported unchanged in the same formats. A citizen's file therefore remains readable by institutional systems without any intermediary, and institutions receive data in the format they already process.

The architecture is deliberately minimal. The application is a single HTML file, runs offline in any browser, and stores everything in one encrypted file that the citizen keeps. There is no server component, no cloud backup, no account and no app store dependency. Encryption is AES-256-GCM, performed client-side; keys never leave the device. A CycloneDX software bill of materials is published with each release.

Vivodepot is built for everyone who keeps records, which is everyone. The same file serves a self-employed person organising contracts and insurance, a household documenting a move, someone drafting an advance directive, a student collecting qualifications, and an adult child helping a parent keep an overview. What varies between people is which of the eleven areas they use — not whether the software is meant for them.

Universality here is an architectural property rather than a marketing claim. Because the application requires no account, no subscription, no smartphone and no app store, the entry threshold is identical for a confident user and for someone who has never installed an application. A design that assumes nothing about the user's device, connectivity or digital confidence is by construction available to all of them, including the people whom account-based services quietly exclude. A file on a USB stick is enough.

The core is licensed under EUPL-1.2, which guarantees mission continuity, rules out vendor lock-in and makes intellectual property handling in a consortium straightforward.

External recognition: Registration in the Digital Public Goods Alliance under review, published Zenodo record, and submitted for the xShare Industry Label for European Electronic Health Record Exchange Format readiness.

The founder has twenty years in telecommunications, network research and software, including Car2x, SDN and NFV work, and co-founded a Berlin network software company in 2012 that is still operating.

Vivodepot seeks partners in consortia working on citizen-side access to personal records, data portability and the practical implementation of European data rights.
