Vivodepot — single-file offline application for citizen-held personal records

Carola Klessen

Founder and Managing Director Vivodepot GmbH at Vivodepot GmbH

About

Vivodepot lets a person hold their own records without a server, a cloud, an account or an app store. The entire application is a single HTML file. Everything is stored in one encrypted file that stays with the person, on their device or on a stick in a drawer.

Function. Eleven areas of life, from identity and health to legal provisions, housing, social insurance and public administration. A reading application for recipients, an issuing tool for verifiable credentials, and a template generator for institutions that want to define their own structured forms.

Interoperability. FHIR R4 and the International Patient Summary for medical records, aligned with EEHRxF. W3C Verifiable Credentials for attestations. Import and export both use the standard formats unchanged.

Security. AES-256-GCM, performed client-side. Keys never leave the device. CycloneDX software bill of materials published with each release. Public self-assessment documentation.

Licensing and availability. Core under EUPL-1.2. Institutions can deploy it white-labelled or certify their own templates. It is free for the people who use it, permanently — the model places cost with institutions, not citizens.
