XR Innovation in Cultural Heritage Projects
About
XR4Europe is the pan-European association uniting stakeholders from across the immersive technology ecosystem, including national and regional clusters, research institutions, universities, SMEs, and creative professionals. Rooted in the legacy of the XR4ALL Horizon 2020 project, XR4Europe was founded to continue the mission of empowering European XR through collaboration, advocacy, and innovation.
We are a strong partner for cultural heritage projects seeking to integrate XR (VR/AR/MR) and virtual world technologies. Our work already supports EU-funded projects like XR4HUMAN and OPENVERSE, part of the European Commission’s Coordination and Support Actions supporting the strategic initiative on virtual worlds. Through these and other activities, we promote ethical, human-centred, and impactful immersive experiences.
In the context of cultural heritage, we can:
-
Facilitate access to top European XR creators and cultural institutions for co-creation and pilot implementation.
-
Support stakeholder engagement and audience development through our extensive networks and events.
-
Amplify the reach and visibility of project outcomes through coordinated communication and dissemination across Europe.
-
Advise on policy alignment, standardisation, and ethical design, ensuring your project meets future-ready expectations in heritage storytelling and digital engagement.
Our services include matchmaking, scouting, exclusive insight reports, and representation in European policy dialogues. With 1,700+ members across 30+ countries, and active roles in Horizon Europe and I3-funded projects, we are uniquely positioned to help heritage projects develop and maximise the impact of virtual worlds and immersive XR applications in the field of cultural heritage.
