Lightweight 3D Digitization for Cultural Heritage Using Gaussian Splatting

Sebastian Van de Perre Gomez

CEO at Cameleon Capture

Gent, Belgium

About

We specialize in advanced 3D digitisation for cultural heritage using Gaussian Splatting — a recent breakthrough technique that enables hyperrealistic visualisations in extremely lightweight formats. These can be embedded easily on the web or used offline, with no need for apps or plugins. This method is also compatible with AR/VR experiences.

We’re looking for partners interested in:

  • Preserving valuable or fragile heritage collections in high visual fidelity

  • Making heritage digitally accessible to broader and more diverse audiences

  • Exploring interactive applications in education, tourism, or virtual museums

  • Piloting innovative use cases within Horizon Europe, Creative Europe, or ECCCH frameworks

We welcome collaboration with institutions (museums, universities, cultural networks), researchers, and developers working on immersive experiences, storytelling, and inclusive access to cultural content.

Call

  • HERITAGE-03: A European Collaborative Cloud for Cultural Heritage – Innovative use cases
  • HERITAGE-04: Leveraging artificial intelligence for creativitydriven innovation
  • HERITAGE-05: Evolution of culture in a virtualising world
  • HERITAGE-08: Bridging historical past and future potential through conservation, preservation, and adaptive use of Europe’s contentious and dissonant heritage
