The goal of this project was to create comfortable, stylish, and practical guest accommodation that will eventually become a permanent home for the owners' mother – a traditional granny annexe. The brief was to design a compact house that offers maximum comfort within a small footprint while maintaining a timeless appearance, high functionality, and a welcoming atmosphere.

The clients chose the ModulLine 1A model, which perfectly meets the requirements for compact yet fully functional living. Thanks to its well-thought-out layout, the house provides everything needed for everyday life without feeling cramped. The result is a charming home with its own unique character, where the owner's eye for detail is reflected throughout the carefully designed interior. Natural materials, light colours, and thoughtfully selected furnishings create an airy, elegant, and comfortable living environment.

The building is based on the structure of a single shipping container and features an open-plan living room with a kitchen, a separate bedroom, a spacious bathroom, and an open sleeping loft overlooking the main living area. The interior is finished with spruce bio-panels, adding warmth, natural beauty, and a cosy atmosphere to the space. Year-round thermal comfort is provided by electric heating foil complemented by a wood-burning stove, which not only serves as an efficient heat source but also enhances the overall ambience of the home.

Compared to the standard design, the bathroom was customised with an additional horizontal window, allowing more natural daylight to enter the space and creating a brighter, more open feel. This subtle modification significantly improves both the comfort and the visual appeal of the interior.

This project demonstrates that even a compact modular home can provide comfortable, high-quality living without compromise. It combines modern architecture, efficient use of space, carefully selected materials, and practical solutions to create a home that meets the owners' current needs while being fully prepared to serve future generations as a comfortable and dignified permanent residence.
