About
I am a Professor of Basic Oncology and Parasitology at Ege University, Türkiye, with multidisciplinary expertise in cancer biology, immunology, microbiome research, infectious diseases and molecular diagnostics.
Research Interests and Expertise
My research activities focus on:
-
Tumour immunology, immune regulation and inflammatory responses
-
Cancer biology, tumour microenvironment and cancer-associated molecular mechanisms
-
Microbiome–host interactions and their roles in cancer, immunity and infectious diseases
-
Host–pathogen interactions, molecular parasitology and infectious diseases
-
Molecular diagnostics, including quantitative PCR (qPCR) and digital PCR (dPCR)
-
Molecular biomarkers, gene expression analysis and experimental validation
-
In vitro cellular models, co-culture systems and translational experimental approaches
-
Development and evaluation of innovative diagnostic strategies
Research Experience
My research integrates molecular biology, cellular and immunological approaches to investigate mechanisms underlying cancer progression, host–pathogen interactions and immune responses.
My recent research interests include microbiome-associated immune modulation, lung cancer biology, cancer–infection interactions, molecular detection of parasitic infections and the development of sensitive molecular diagnostic methods.
Horizon Europe Collaboration Interests
I am interested in joining multidisciplinary European research consortia, particularly within Horizon Europe Cluster 1: Health and Mission Cancer.
I can contribute expertise in experimental oncology, immunology, microbiome research, molecular diagnostics, biomarker analysis and translational laboratory research.
I welcome collaborations with academic institutions, clinical research groups, hospitals, biotechnology companies and industrial partners working on innovative approaches to cancer prevention, early detection, infectious diseases and personalised medicine.
