Seeking collaboration on novel small-molecule antiviral therapeutics – Horizon Europe Health

Grant Manager at Ignaz Semmelweis Institute

WIEN, Austria

About

The Ignaz Semmelweis Institute (Medical University of Vienna) is seeking collaboration opportunities for the upcoming Horizon Europe Health call on the development of novel small-molecule antiviral therapeutics.

We offer complementary expertise in:

  • Virology and emerging pathogens: Hantaviruses (including Andes virus), other high-priority viral pathogens, virus–host interactions, and viral immunology.

  • Advanced infection models: Human-relevant 3D and organoid models, respiratory barrier systems, and innovative infection models.

  • Innate immunity and host responses: Antiviral immune mechanisms, monocyte/macrophage biology, and immunoprofiling.

  • Clinical and translational research: Linking experimental research with clinical expertise in infectious diseases.

We are interested in joining interdisciplinary consortia and contributing to the preclinical evaluation, mechanistic characterisation, and translational development of novel antiviral therapeutics.

Topic

  • Destination 3: HORIZON-HLTH-2027-01-DISEASE-05: Development of novel small molecule antiviral therapeutics for pathogens with epidemic potential
  • Destination 3: HORIZON-HLTH-2027-01-DISEASE-06: Development of monoclonal antibodies to prevent and treat infections from Flaviviruses
  • Destination 3: HORIZON-HLTH-2027-01-DISEASE-07: Development of monoclonal antibodies to prevent and treat infections from Filo-, Nairo-, Phenui-, Picorna- and Toga viruses
  • Destination 3: HORIZON-HLTH-2027-01-DISEASE-08: Development of innovative antimicrobials against pathogens resistant to antimicrobials
