Target call: HORIZON-HLTH-2027-01-STAYHLTH-01 – Addressing disabilities through the life course to support independent living and inclusion.

Organisation: OIKANOS Social Cooperative Enterprise
Location: Heraklion, Crete, Greece
Partnership sought: Participation as a consortium partner in a Horizon Europe research and innovation proposal.

About OIKANOS

OIKANOS is a Greek Social Cooperative Enterprise with practical experience in community-based social care, older adult support, active ageing and the implementation of European-funded projects.

The organisation combines experience in delivering social services with participation in international partnerships, particularly under Erasmus+. Its activities include supporting vulnerable populations, promoting social inclusion, strengthening caregiver capacities and contributing to innovative approaches to care and independent living.

Potential contribution to the project

OIKANOS is interested in collaborating with research institutions, universities, healthcare providers, technology developers, disability organisations and social care providers to develop, implement and evaluate inclusive, person-centred approaches to independent living.

Depending on the consortium's needs and the project's design, OIKANOS could contribute to:

  • Needs assessment and co-design: Identifying the needs of relevant end-users, caregivers and community-based care professionals, and contributing to participatory development processes.

  • Stakeholder engagement: Mobilising local social care stakeholders, professionals and relevant community organisations in Greece.

  • Pilot implementation: Supporting the organisation and delivery of pilot activities in appropriate community-based settings, subject to the project's requirements and available partnerships.

  • User-centred evaluation: Collecting qualitative feedback, facilitating interviews and focus groups, and assessing the usability, accessibility and perceived benefits of innovative interventions.

  • Training and capacity-building: Supporting educational activities for care professionals, informal caregivers and relevant stakeholders.

  • Dissemination and exploitation: Contributing to communication, knowledge transfer, stakeholder outreach and the dissemination of project findings.

Areas of particular interest

OIKANOS is particularly interested in approaches that promote independent living, disability inclusion, accessible community-based services, person-centred care, digital inclusion and the autonomy of people with support needs.

Partnership opportunity

We are seeking to join an international consortium preparing a proposal under HORIZON-HLTH-2027-01-STAYHLTH-01.

OIKANOS would welcome discussions with potential coordinators and partners regarding its contribution to work packages related to end-user involvement, social care practice, community engagement, pilot implementation, training and impact evaluation.

We are open to discussing specific tasks and responsibilities that reflect our operational experience and complement the scientific and technological expertise of other consortium members.
