OIKANOS Social Cooperative Enterprise is a Greek social economy organisation based in Heraklion, Crete, dedicated to improving social inclusion, quality of life and access to community-based support services, with particular expertise in older adult care and active ageing.
The organisation combines practical experience in social care with the development and implementation of European-funded projects, particularly under the Erasmus+ programme. Its activities focus on supporting vulnerable populations, promoting healthy and active ageing, strengthening the capacities of formal and informal caregivers, and facilitating the adoption of innovative approaches to health and social care.
OIKANOS has participated in transnational projects addressing healthcare education, digital skills, intergenerational learning and the improvement of care practices. Through these initiatives, the organisation has developed experience in international cooperation, stakeholder engagement, training activities, needs assessment, dissemination and project implementation.
