Clinical validation of innovative hypertension and cardiorenal care interventions
Associate Professor of Internal Medicine at Università degli Studi di Ferrara
Ferrara, Italy
About
Our clinical research unit at the University Hospital of Ferrara (Italy) is seeking collaboration with European consortia developing innovative interventions for cardiovascular and chronic kidney diseases, particularly in arterial hypertension, multimorbidity and personalised cardiovascular prevention.
Our clinical and research activities include ambulatory and home blood pressure monitoring, cardiovascular and renal risk assessment, hypertension-mediated organ damage evaluation, and management of complex patients with cardiometabolic and cardiorenal conditions.
A particular research interest is the development of patient-centred monitoring and prevention strategies for women with hypertensive disorders of pregnancy, including postpartum surveillance and long-term cardiovascular follow-up.
Potential research applications
-
Digital home blood pressure monitoring and personalised hypertension management.
-
Selective use of ABPM in high-risk or diagnostically uncertain patients.
-
Remote cardiovascular and renal surveillance.
-
Treatment adherence and lifestyle interventions.
-
Integrated care for hypertension and cardiorenal multimorbidity.
-
Postpartum cardiovascular prevention after pre-eclampsia or gestational hypertension.
Expertise offered
Clinical protocol development, patient selection and phenotyping, clinically meaningful endpoint definition, cardiovascular and renal assessment, feasibility evaluation, clinical data interpretation and participation in multicentre clinical studies.
Partners sought
European clinical research coordinators, cardiovascular and nephrology centres, maternal cardiovascular health researchers, digital health developers, clinical trial experts and groups with established proof-of-concept evidence for innovative interventions.
Proposed role
Clinical study design, patient phenotyping and validation partner in multicentre interventional research.
