Translational PET/CT and PET/MR imaging: from mouse models to patients

About
The Biomedical Research Foundation of the Academy of Athens (BRFAA, Greece) offers quantitative PET imaging across the full translational chain. We are one of a limited number of European sites with both preclinical and clinical PET under one roof:
-
Preclinical PET/CT for mice and rats, with on-site hosting of animals from partners across Europe
-
Clinical PET/CT, and a clinical PET/MR (the latest will be operational from early 2027)
-
Quantitative analysis: PET image reconstruction and processing, SUV and kinetic modelling, parametric maps, radiomics and AI-based segmentation
-
Quality systems: experience with ISO/IEC 17025 and GLP, we can support regulatory-grade preclinical data
We can lead or contribute to an imaging work package: biodistribution, pharmacokinetics and efficacy of candidate therapeutics in vivo, harmonised preclinical-to-clinical protocols, and PET-based endpoints and biomarkers for clinical studies and AI models. Our focus areas are oncology, cardiology and neurology.
What we are looking for:
Coordinators and consortia preparing proposals that need in vivo imaging evidence or imaging endpoints. We are particularly interested in developers of drugs, antibodies, antimicrobials or radiotracers, clinical trial networks, and AI and modelling groups.
