AMR research group looking for collaborators and project coordinators
International Unit (Projects Office) at Institut de Recerca Biomèdica de Lleida (IRBLleida)
Lleida, Spain
About
Our Group: We are a specialized team of clinical microbiologists and clinical analysis experts. Our research spans multiple domains of microbiology, including infectious diseases caused by bacteria, viruses, fungi, and parasites.
Expertise and Lines of Research:
1. Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR) and Virulence: We focus on the characterization of antibiotic resistance mechanisms and the study of key virulence factors in clinical pathogenic isolates. We have extensive experience with Staphylococcus aureus, and Pseudomonas aeruginosa studying them from a One Health perspective to understand its dynamics across human, animal, and environmental interfaces.
2. Epidemiological Surveillance: We conduct active monitoring of circulating clones in our environment, providing critical data on local microbial dynamics. On this last point, we have analyzed the zoonotic risk that pork meat industries can pose.
3. Virology and Emerging Threats: Our team performs active surveillance of community-acquired respiratory viruses and monitors other emerging infectious disease microorganisms.
What we offer to a consortium:
We can provide expertise in microbiological techniques, access to a large repository of clinical samples, and robust surveillance data for projects focused on infectious diseases and AMR.
