About
The Heschel Center for Sustainability is a nationally recognized Israeli non-profit organization that works to drive systemic transformation toward a just, resilient, and sustainable society. For over two decades, the Heschel Center has developed pioneering leadership programs, interdisciplinary research initiatives, and cross-sector collaborations that integrate social justice, environmental stewardship, and long-term climate resilience.
Our work spans climate change adaptation, health system preparedness, sustainable and equitable food systems, urban resilience, innovative sustainability education and more. We partner closely with government ministries, municipalities, academic institutions, and healthcare systems to build capacity, develop strategic tools, and translate global frameworks—such as One Health, the SDGs, the EU Green Deal, and Doughnut Economics—into actionable policies and practices.
Through our Sustainability Learning Hub and flagship leadership programs, including the Climate-Health Leadership Program for senior healthcare executives, we cultivate communities of practice, strengthen public sector innovation, and support the integration of climate and health considerations into national planning and decision-making processes.
