About

UNIVPM is an internationally recognised institution with strong multidisciplinary expertise on the health impacts fully aligned with Horizon Europe priorities. Founded in 1969 and based in Ancona, UNIVPM has about 17,000 students, 5 faculties, and over 1,000 academic and technical staff. It is highly active in European research. Due to its outstanding research and industrial cooperation for R&D&I, the Università Politecnica delle Marche (UNIVPM) has gained success across Europe. More than 150 EU projects at UNIVPM have received funding resulting in over €36 million from the European Union's FP7 and Horizon 2020 research and innovation frameworks and other European research programmes. The Università Politecnica delle Marche has been awarded funding for 68 HORIZON EUROPE projects, receiving to 25M€ and 25 projects in sister programmes (LIFE, Interreg...) with 6M€ budget. This strengthens its status as a leading research institution on the global stage. The collaboration between UNIVPM and the Regional Hospital "Ospedali Riuniti" allows for the integration of standard health care services with the educational and scientific requirements of the Faculty of Medicine and Surgery. This opportunity is made possible by the close proximity of the two institutions and is now recognised as the hospital-university enterprise of the Marche Region. Staff members are employed by both the University Hospital and the Regional Hospital in accordance with the University Hospital's third level/teaching roles and collaborate in clinical trials. Located in one of Italy's busiest commercial and passenger city harbours, many people travel to and from countries in the East and the Balkans via the city of Ancona, where UNIVPM is located. The Faculty of Medicine is committed to using an interdisciplinary approach (such as One Health initiatives) to maximise the effectiveness of healthcare interventions and other programmatic efforts.
