Leumit is particularly interested in partnerships in the field of brain health, including: Risk factors for dementia, including vitamin D deficiency and chronic infections such as Toxoplasma gondii, particularly where linked to neuroinflammation and increased dementia risk; Pragmatic, community-based intervention trials, including large randomized studies embedded in primary care to evaluate dementia prevention and slowing of cognitive decline; Health inequalities in brain health, with a particular ability to study diverse and underserved populations; Novel mechanistic pathways in dementia and Alzheimer’s disease.
