Looking for an SME interested in the commercial exploitation of novel biomarkers

Technologist at University of Cagliari (UNICA)

ITALY, Italy

About

Proposal idea: Validated index of arterial ageing measured in a patient cohort. The index will be assessed at enrolment and after 12 months, enabling evaluation of the rate of change of arterial ageing through a longitudinal approach with repeated measurements. This design will allow identification of individuals whose arteries age more rapidly or more slowly than the average of their age-matched peers.

At the same time, a substantial panel of metabolites related to the main energy metabolism pathways—primarily glucose and lipid metabolism—will be quantified in plasma. These parameters will also be measured at enrolment and after 12 months. Plasma metabolites will be correlated with additional metabolite markers reflecting metabolic activity in specific tissues, including adipose tissue, skeletal muscle, and liver. We are looking for an SME interested in the commercial exploitation of novel biomarkers.
